I have a confession to make. I LOVE shooting in the snow….but I HATE the cold. Yeah, it’s quite the problem considering I have to brave the cold in order to shoot in the snow. I try to tell myself it will be worth freezing my fingers off. And that isn’t a joke. My fingers literally freeze during winter sessions while clicking the buttons but it’s always worth it in the end. Always.
So when this momma reached out about wanting to do an outdoor winter session (with hopefully some snow), I was pumped and yet a little “ohhh man, it’s going to be cold.” So we blocked off 2 weeks of “weather watching” for snowfall and sure enough, snow fell within the two weeks we needed, but BRRRR were we FREEZING our butts off. It was in the 30s and the winds, oh the winds that morning made the temp feel like it was in the negatives. We shot about 8, maybe 10 minutes outside. Our numb fingers were worth it, don’t you think?
Here’s to hopefully having another snowy winter shoot this season. <3
