Every time I shoot at Valley Forge it ends up being a perfect day. Matt and Kristin's engagement session was no exception. When I first spoke to Kristin about where to shoot her engagement session, we came up with Longwood Gardens because of the cold weather (thanks to the brutal winter). Then a miracle happened less than 24 hours before their session - sunshine and warmth was on the way, which only meant we had to take this session to a new location.
Matt and Kristin were troopers switching up the plans last minute, but that doesn't surprise me because they are a sweet and very easygoing couple. After being together for almost 5 years, Matt popped the question to Kristin back in February during a run in Central Park when he insisted they veer off from their usual route and head up to the Reservoir. Then, on that unusual warm day in New York City Matt got down on one knee in the snow. Did I mention he was in shorts? =)
I loved working with these two especially because they weren't afraid to climb into the brush and other odd places, even after they were getting cuts and bruises. It was all worth it in the end because the sun that evening was just beautiful and capturing the love between them on that evening made it even more perfect.
